Cygnus Performance Issues - Form Delay/Lag

If you are experiencing form delay, the issue is caused by Anti-Virus software scanning the Cygnus Job files before allowing Cygnus access to the files. The files in question, are written to and read from, multiple times while the forms are being rendered to screen and it is believed that each change to these files is being delayed by your AV software.

While not that familiar with McAfee software, the same issues exist in other AV software; Sofos and ESET. Which is remedied by setting up some exclusions to Cygnus folders. Recommended tests below:-

Add ALL the Cygnus System Settings Root Directories to the McAfee exclusions list on the Client/PC where Cygnus is installed and retest.

  1. Add the Cygnus folder (include subfolders and files) to the McAfee exclusions list on the Server hosting the Cygnus Share and retest.
