Minimum Volume – (L) Letters/ (LL) Large Letters

For sorted mail, whether machine-readable or not, a minimum of 4,000 letters or 1,000 large letters are required for Royal Mail.  For DSAs it is 4000 min for both letters and large letters.

However, if you have an agreement with the DSA to accept 1000 large letters you can counteract the unqualified status by changing the setting below in Cygnus.

Navigate to: Tools > Options > Master/Client/Job > Royal Mail Sort > *DSA > Switch off minimum volume checking = Yes

DSAs tend to bundle clients’ undersized sorts and send on… therefore changing above setting will allow the sort to qualify with a smaller volume.
